A major race on the calender with my first meeting which included an elite field. Took the Mrs down for the weekend and made the trip down to Llandow race circuit, not Llandough!!! for the 8.30am start. 5.6k run, 20k bike and 2.5 k run. A sprint it was with a fast start on the run had me in 12th position and ready for transition. The bike course started off with an undulating start and I quickly made a mark to avoid the pot holes which could have broken me in half had i hit them. Had a little play with a cardiff cyclist but left him 1/4 of the way around and felt gd. At half way I had not been passed which was a very positive feeling, but speaking to soon the aero wheels quickly came flying past. Finish 21st on the bike having caught Ifan (Meirionydd) 1/2 mile from the finish. Starting the 2nd run I slowly got up to speed and picked off one more athlete finishing me off in 20th position. Could not have asked for better other than a tight calf screaming on the run. Trying to make the next round of the welsh grand prix but the wedding plans are creeping nearer.
