Just when things are starting to click, Broken Arm, 5 weeks in plaster. Broken Radius under the wrist, fell backwards in Football. AAArrrrrgggghhhhhh

Aberystwyth Twin Peaks 2010

A local event which i always enjoy, 7 miles with 2 big climbs inbetween. No real expectations but to enjoy the day and get a top 5. A good quality field started off with a good pace, I kept a top 5 position up the first peak. Legs very heavy after the football day before but managed a good start with plenty of time on the pack behind me. Dropped to 6th on the prom as Mr meirionydd bombed passed up Consti. Two aber athletes closing in at the end, but my downhill legs put some time on them towards the finish. 6th overall, first Uwa runner 50min 48sec. 30sec down on last year.

Bala Olympic Triathlon 2010

A last minute decision to enter as I just purchased my new home. Training up to event had been solid but no real quality just grabbed the bike or trainers when I had the chance. A good level of competition with Llyr and Daf entering so plenty of points up for grabs. We arrived an hour before the start but after registration and a toilet stop we soon found our selfs behind schedule and in a little panic to get the kit ready. I finally arrived at the start line with 5 mins remaining along with daf who I thought was ready to go. Just before entering the lake we noticed that daf had forgotten his timing chip!!! Off he went and everone knew of his missing chip when the loudspeeker announced dafs problem and that he was on the hunt for his car keys.
Swim was a little choppy and a little slow 30.26, failed to get into a rhythym and could not get a clean line. Bike ride was good fun with a good crowd to pace me around the route. 1h 04min 7 sec was 5 mins quicker than 09. Run had been good during the year after my broken ribs incident so i was confident of putting in a good time. 39min 58sec, not blistering but PB for a tri 10k run. 3mins up on my time 2009. Daf ended up going off with the seniors and chain coming of his bike twice. Fail to prepare, prepare to fail. Tough day.
